Mr. George L. Paetz started the George L. Paetz and Sons company to fill a need for local suppliers and provide products to manufacturers of custom design buggies and repair.
Transitioning
The company transitioned to a supplier of fabrics, vinyls and upholstery for residential applications.
New Ownership
Harold C. Paetz and Richard F. Mayer, Sr. assume ownership and key management responsibilities.

Mayer Fabrics created
A new division of the Paetz Company – Mayer Fabrics was created to offer the contract market highly durable fabrics at price points previously unavailable.

The success of the original offering led to dynamic partnerships with a select handful of mills, and expansion into the hospitality and healthcare markets.
Mayer acquires Lucia Cassa Textiles
Mayer Fabrics acquired Lucia Cassa Textiles. The Lucia Cassa convergence collection marked a commitment to product appeal in both design and price. To ensure this trend continued, Lucia Kennerly became Mayer Fabrics’ director of product development.

Steve Mayer, son of Richard F. Mayer, was appointed as Chief Financial Officer.
